Fly fishing in Shamrock Cove has been great. We are fly fishing in 15 to 20 inches of water for tailing red fish. Winds have been clam so I’m able to pole the boat close to the redfish and sight casting to them. Water temperature is in the 70’s and the water clarity is super, perfect for sight casting tail red fish. There are a few big trout mix in with the red fish on the flats so we are also catching some good trout and red fish. The birds are working the shrimp hard down south, with 15 to 19 inch trout under them. The red fish are hitting a crab pattern and the fly that is catching the trout is the chartreuse Clouser Minnow.
