About Captain Joe Mendez

Let me, Captain Joe Mendez, welcome you to some of the best saltwater flats fishing on the Texas Coast. I am a United States Coast Guard licensed Captain, licensed by the Texas Parks and Wildlife, and participate in the USCG drug testing program. I have been guiding and navigating the waters of the Upper Laguna Madre, Baffin Bay, and the Land Cut for over 25 years. We target redfish and trout on the shallow flats of the Laguna Madre with lures, fly fishing, and live bait if you are an avid fisherman looking for some new techniques or new to saltwater fishing hoping to learn and catch more fish. I will show you how to do that while keeping you safe and comfortable.
