Fly fishing in Shamrock Cove has been great. We are fly fishing in 15 to 20 inches of water for tailing redfish. The winds have been calm, so I can pole the boat close to the redfish and do sight casting for them. The water temperature is in the 70s, and the clarity is superb, perfect for sight-casting tail redfish. A few big trout mixed in with the redfish on the flats, so we are also catching some good trout and redfish. The birds work the shrimp hard down south, with 15 to 19-inch trout under them. The redfish hit a crab pattern, and the fly that caught the trout was the chartreuse Clouser Minnow. Give me a call, or better, shoot me a text at 361-877-1230 to book your trip now!
